Icons & Heroes

Welcome to the competition for the world's most amazing people. Billionaire Magazine and our CEO Lawrence Colbert, a proud military veteran, take great pleasure in bringing you a collection of the finest and most honourable human beings on earth. We simply call them heroes. We do not celebrate war nor do we encourage it. We simply pay tribute to the incredible men and women who put their lives on the line, so that others may live and so that we all may remain free.

The inaugural Invictus Games in London 2014 used the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick service men and women. The Invictus Games Foundation has been set up to develop this legacy, manage the process of selecting the hosts of future games and oversee their delivery. The Foundation recently announced that the next Invictus Games will take place the 16th - 22nd of April 2022 in the Hague the Netherlands.

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul.

Invictus US

"These Games have shone a spotlight on the 'unconquerable' character of servicemen and women, their families and the 'invictus' spirit."
